John Ellis
PRINCIPAL, LEED AP
John has more than 18 years of experience with CGLS Architects where he has focused on hospitality, educational and religious projects. His professional practice prior to joining CGLS centered on sustainable design. He has an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and a graduate degree in Architecture from SCAD. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors biking, running, and spending time gardening in his new yard.
Teri Huling
PRINCIPAL, RA, NCARB
Teri is native to southeastern Georgia, having grown up on the coast. She joined CGLS in 2016 and has over 18 years of experience in Religious and K-12 work. She believes that personal connections allow us to better understand client needs and ultimately create better spaces for them to live, learn or worship. Her talents lie in Master Planning, Historic Preservation/Renovation/Rehabilitation, Programming and Conceptual Design. Teri and her husband, Sean, have two sons, Colin and Evan, and a rescue pup named Copper. With two kids and a dog, her house is almost never quiet! Teri’s favorite place to be is “…either somewhere building something or just enjoying the outdoors.” -Teri H.
Mara Neumann
PROJECT ARCHITECT, RA, NCARB
Mara is a registered Architect who joined CGLS in November of 2022. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Furnishings and Interiors and then a Master of Architecture from Georgia Tech in 2009. Since graduating, she has worked in a variety of phases and project types ranging from Interior Design, Senior Living, Assisted Living, Movie Studio design, Single Family Housing, Business, Assembly, and Multifamily Residential. She not only brings knowledge of different project types to CGLS but is a dedicated problem solver who loves collaborating with the team. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her son, reading, working out, and competitive sports. Her life and work are inspired by Nelson Mandela’s quote, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Marian Reeves
VICE PRESIDENT/PRINCIPAL
AIA, NCARB
Mary has more than 27 years of hands-on experience in all phases of the design/construction industry, including total project development responsibility from preliminary design to project closeout. As a Construction Project Manager, Mary collaborates with the project design team and functions as the prime contact with the General Contractor’s construction team to ensure that that the project and contract scope of work creates the desired project outcome. She has worked on projects with construction costs in excess of $60,000,000. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to any project. In her free time, Mary enjoys watching college football, hockey, gardening, hiking and biking.
Bob Sussenbach
FOUNDER/PRINCIPAL
AIA, NCARB
As a founder and principal of CGLS Architects, Inc., Bob has developed expertise in the areas of program and project management, quality control, construction specifications, product and materials selection, construction techniques, and specialty applications. In his extensive and varied architectural practice, Bob has gained a broad knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction for both new and renovation projects. His experience with specific building types includes educational buildings, churches, golf country clubs, public assembly, and athletic facilities. Invaluable to the CGLS team, Bob ensures that all of our projects reach their greatest potential.
Becky Tyson
PRESIDENT/PRINCIPAL
AIA, NCARB
Becky brings almost three decades of design expertise, primarily in educational and hospitality facilities. From small scale to complex projects, as a natural leader, she possesses the knowledge and personal skills to lead the project team through to the successful completion of the project. She has been with CGLS since its inception in 1994 and as a former studio director she has worked closely on all aspects of school design. She is an essential part of the design team through project management, quality control, construction specifications and code research.
Mi Wang
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
Mi received his Master of Architecture from Georgia Tech. He joined us in 2013. In addition to his extensive experience in a wide variety of building types involving all phases of architecture, Mi is dexterous and conversant in using 3D software for architectural renderings, animation, and graphic design. He enjoys spending time in the great outdoors when not in the office.
Frankie Ware
ASSOCIATE/INTERIOR DESIGNER
NCIDQ, IDEC, IIDA, MFA, RID
Frankie brings more than 30 years of Interior Design and Programming experience to the firm. She brings a new sense of color and space planning to the projects that she handles and has a great rapport with our clients enabling them to express their needs through three-dimensional interior design. She earned her BID from Auburn University College of Architecture and her MFA in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta. While she devotes her time to the firm to bring clients the best in color theory and space planning, she is also a professor of Interior Design. She currently teaches at Georgia State University and Athens Technical College. In her downtime, she enjoys painting with watercolors and sewing.
Jon Watts
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
Jon joined CGLS in 2015 shortly after graduating from Southern Polytechnic University (KSU). He focuses primarily on educational projects, but he is also actively involved in feasibility studies, program management, drawing production, 3D renderings, and construction administration of many other projects. Jon enjoys designing and building furniture in his free time and has aspirations of becoming a registered Architect.
Samantha Williams
PRINCIPAL, RA, NCARB
Samantha has more than 17 years of experience working in the field of architecture at CGLS. Her design experiences focus primarily on educational facilities, in addition to religious and hospitality. She thrives on complex design projects. Samantha received her undergraduate degree from Ball State University & her Master of Architecture & Master of Preservation Studies from Tulane University. When there is down time you can find her camping, hiking, backpacking, or overall just adventuring.
